Welcome to the fourth instalment of the Alien Shooter series. The game is set in a near-future world where humankind has been pushed back into a few isolated islands as they continue their war with several extraterrestrial species. The story follows ex-Ranger Jack Stone, now working as an elite law enforcement agent for hire, as he travels from island to island fighting aliens and uncovering their plans. This is an arcade shooter set in a very dark and violent environment. It includes gore and violence so if you don't like those kind of games we strongly recommend you find another one - this isn't likely your sort of game! ##Quotes## "The fifth instalment. The best of the series. It is a shame it takes so long to finish, but the wait is worthwhile if only for the gameplay and shooting." - Angry Joe
Alien Shooter 4 was released on July 12th 2013 for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows operating systems. The game features cross play between all three versions. If you have a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 you can also play with them on your computer via the online service provided by Sony's Play Station Network or EA's Origin service, respectively. The game also supports Steamworks. A demo version to test drive the game was made available just before release. If you want to try it before buying it you can download the demo version.
The game features 2-player co-operative play throughout the single player campaign. You can play with a friend over LAN or on the internet via an internet connection. This new multiplayer version is based on XMPP, which is a simple way for devices to connect directly with each other using an encrypted chat channel without any central servers to manage user accounts. It will support both direct connections between users as well as connections through Steam’s master server, so that everyone who has signed up for this service can play with each other until more people have joined the service. Other services such as Game Center or Clubs will be supported as well. Steam's native support for XMPP and friends has made it much easier to bring multiplayer games to Linux and Mac OS X. It is no longer required to install a dedicated server on your computer or special client software on each player's device. Players will now not only be able to host games, but also join them as well as play against each other directly from Steam without any additional software at all.
Alien Shooter 4 got an awesome review from Computer And Video Games (CVG). The gamers there really enjoyed it and rated it 9/10: "This is the best Aliens Shooter yet; if you like shooters, this is definitely worth getting. It may be hard, but it's so damn satisfying to complete. Alien Shooter 4 is an unmissable game." Team Psiko were also happy about their game and posted this cool quote on the Internet: "The best of the series. Definitely worth getting. It is a shame it takes so long to finish, but the wait is worthwhile if only for the gameplay and shooting." - Angry Joe
